Fiddle

Derek has been a prominent fiddler on the Edinburgh session scene for many years, with a huge repertoire of tunes and a recognisably individual style.

He has featured in various guises over the years, notably in radio and stage collaborations with the writer and Scots language expert Billy Kay and, with other Bairns, the album and live theatre show of 'Fergusson's Auld Reekie'. He has recorded and performs with daughter Sarah, also a fiddler, and as a teacher with Edinburgh's Adult Learning Project Scots Music Group, and a member of Bella McNab's Dance Band.
